If you imagine that your subconscious mind is like a hard disk of a computer, over time this hard disk, just like a computer can get cluttered by bad programs and corrupt files.
In your human mind these bad programs and corrupt files can be related to negative influences in your environment, disempowering information from the media, bad habits that you pick up over time, chronic stress and even the food and drink we consume.
This hard disk is responsible for your heart beat, your breathing, your long term memory, your digestive system, your immune system and the majority of the processing power of your thoughts and emotions takes place here too.
So when this goes wrong, so does your health, your well being, your mind power and even your ability to attract and manifest the things that you want.
Thankfully you can correct these bad programs by using meditation techniques with positive affirmations.
Positive affirmations are suggestions that you make to your subconscious mind that change your habitual thinking patterns.
This process is also known as predictive programming, and you can enhance this process with videos, images and anything else that will help form habitual thinking patterns and behaviors that go on to influence the world around you.
Tom Cruise actually used this same method when he spliced in a snap shot of Katie Holmes on a giant billboard poster during one of the scenes in his movie, Vanilla Sky. 6. Repetition is essential, so the more times you repeat an affirmation the better. It should become a daily practice.
7. Positive affirmations do not magically manifest results, what they do instead is open your subconscious to new channels of information and opportunity, so you must take action on these in order for any major changes to happen to your life.
Here are some examples of good and bad positive affirmations to use.
I am a creative thinker – good
I want to be a creative thinker – bad
I am beautiful – good
I don’t want to be fat – bad
So remember to pick the right statements for your intentions, then make it a daily habit to clear the clutter and reprogram your subconscious mind.

When I say affirmations the only thing that happens is I feel worse because I dont believe the affirmation. So how does saying the affirmation in the alpha state change that? I am still going to not believe it.
positive affirmation are very important in changing our life for the better,old limiting beliefs ,negative programming ,bad habits fear of failures etc,are there deep in our sub conscious mind so we have to free all this in order to be receptive and one method is by substituting with new constructive belief system which aid in achieving our goals positive affirmation is ideal during during night when we go to sleep while we trance from conscious to subconscious state of mind or in the morning when switching on to to conscious state of mind or by using brain wave entertainment subliminal message hypnosis NLP .

Mark Z……You make a very good point. I have noticed the same thing in that the more I would say an affirmation I don’t believe, the more I am reminded of how I don’t want to be and feel worse too. The important thing to realize is that it is the Thought Behind the Thought that is important, and if the thought behind your affirmation is that you don’t believe it, then you are just reinforcing that. What seems to work better for me is to simply visualize how I choose to be, and I realize and believe that by holding this image in my mind, I am directing the evolution of my self. This way you are not claiming to be something you are not, you are just giving your subconscious something to work toward. But you have to believe the subconscious controls everything about your body and mind, and so by giving it directions in the way of visualizations and images of how you choose to be, you will lead it to create what you choose. Do some reading about the power of the subconscious if necessary to believe this.

You are absolutely correct… To work, the affirmation must also be believable to you. Let’s take for example “I am wise with money”. You want to be but you know you are not. So, you can modify it in 2 ways. 1) you can imply that it is a process and say: “Day after day, I am wiser with money”. 2) you can start with where you are and introduce the new trait like “I may not have been wise with money in the past (truth, believable) but I am better and better with each new investment”. If you start your practice this way, soon you will be able to believe the statement “I am wise with money” and use it. In alpha state, it speeds the process…
